Mercedes-Benz 300S and 300Sc Service & Restoration

The culmination of 1950's Mercedes-Benz craftsmanship were the 300 coupes, cabriolets and roadsters produced from September 1955 to April 1958. These hand built, made to order vehicles were produced at the limited production Sindelfingen Works. Only 53 of the 300SC roadstersMercedes-Benz 300Sc where ever produced making this one of the rarest post-war Mercedes-Benz production cars.

The price tag of $14,500 dollars made these cars affordable only by the wealthy. For comparison, a Cadillac Elderado of the same era would have cost about $6,700. Even the famed Gull-Wing was priced well below the 300Sc. Among the famous purchasers of the cars were Clark Gable and numerous Heads of State.

The Blue 300Sc presented on this page was delivered in 1957 to a buyer in Caracas, Venezuela. In 1968 the car was purchased from its' original owner and in 1972 brought to the US where it was Mercedes-benz 300Sc luggage used sparingly as a weekend "driver." It remained unused for about 15 years until 1999 when our client purchased it from the estate of the second owner and commissioned OldTimer Restoration Center to do a complete frame-off restoration.

This 300Sc is finished in (DB302) Dark Blue with (1060) Beige Leather interior and Carpathian burled Elm wood dash. The Mercedes-Benz factory options include matching trunk mounted luggage, and dual spare tires. Powered by a fuel injected, 3-liter, straight 6-cylinder engine developing 200 horsepower, this magnificent car can easily Mercedes-Benz 300Sc body undergoing frame off restorationreach speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
